The End of the Aisle: Saying Farewell to the Bridesmaids

The End of the Aisle: Saying Farewell to the Bridesmaids

Wow—what a journey it’s been! When I first dreamed up the Always a Bridesmaid series, I never imagined the love, laughter, and heartfelt moments these characters would bring.

With the upcoming release of Desire a Bridesmaid and Never a Bridesmaid in early 2026, the series will officially be complete. It feels a little bittersweet, like catching the bouquet at the end of the night. You’re excited for what’s next, but not quite ready to say goodbye.

How It All Began

The idea for the Always a Bridesmaid series first came to me in the summer of 2014 while my family was on our annual beach vacation. Connor was just six years old, splashing in the waves as my sister and I played with him and chatted about weddings. At the time, she ran a bridal makeup business, and she mentioned the trend of professional bridesmaids-for-hire.

By the time we toweled off, the first sparks of the series had formed. Erin, Lauren, and Dylan, the world’s only professional groomsman, were already dancing around in my imagination.

A Walk Down Memory Lane

Over the course of this series, we’ve followed along as friends and family navigated weddings, love stories, and all the messy, magical in-between moments. From hired bridesmaids to happily-ever-afters, these books have been my love letter to friendship, romance, and the joy of saying “I do.”

Forever a Bridesmaid was my very first published novel, and the series grew from there in ways I couldn’t have predicted. What began as a trilogy expanded when the characters simply refused to leave the party. That’s how Kiss a Bridesmaid and Desire a Bridesmaid found their way to the lineup. Writing these final two books has felt like coming full circle, tying up threads that started on that beach almost eleven years ago.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Thank you to every single reader who has picked up an Always a Bridesmaid book, laughed at the hijinks, swooned over the romance, and cheered these couples on to happily-ever-after. This series wouldn’t have been the same without you.

Who has been your favorite bridesmaid so far? I’d love to hear in the comments, on Instagram, or by email.

So, let’s say farewell for now. Here’s to new beginnings, unforgettable friendships, and love stories that always end with “I do.”
